Melissa McSween
JR Ewing and Melissa McSween--they might be the perfect father/daughter team--only they aren't--yet. Melissa shares many of JR's qualities, including his conniving mindset. She'll do anything to get what she wants most in this world...and right now, what she wants most is JR's son, John Ross. Wedding bells may or may not be in the future for this potential JR Ewing daughter-in-law and her boyfriend.

Melissa Renee McSween was born to Trevor, Harry McSween's brother, and his wife Angela. Melissa's beginnings were very humble. Her father was a factory worker who always struggled to make ends meet for the family. They moved to Chicago where Trevor made more money, but they still didn't live the Ewing lifestyle. Not long after their move, Melissa's brother, Jake, was shot by a gang. He died several days later, but his death had a lasting impact on Melissa. She gave up her dream of being a doctor and instead, pursued a career in law enforcement. In 1990, when Melissa was 18, Trevor was injured on the job and the McSween's moved back to Dallas where they lived with Harry McSween. It was during this time that Melissa grew close to her uncle and he got her enrolled in the police academy in Dallas.

Melissa excelled and graduated with full honors. She then began to work her way through the ranks and eventually became chief of police at her precinct. During that time, Melissa had several romantic interests, but none ended up in anything serious. In 1998, she was introduced to John Ross Ewing by her Uncle Harry.

At first, things were kind of fire and ice between them. Eventually their relationship heated up, but there were complications because John Ross was engaged to Pamela Rebecca. Melissa devised a plot and had one of her old boyfriends call Pamela Rebecca and impersonate Cliff (who had supposedly died). He said that he needed her help and told her where he was. So, Pamela Rebecca set off to investigate, but found out about Melissa's scheme and came to Southfork during the big barbecue. Melissa and Pamela Rebecca had a few choice words, but John Ross declared his love for Melissa and kicked Pamela Rebecca off the ranch.

The next day, John Ross and Melissa left for a trip around the world. Just recently, they returned to Dallas after touring exotic places like Egypt and Singapore. Melissa and John Ross haven't set a wedding date yet, and with Pamela Rebecca back in town, the fireworks will fly for this couple.

Note: Melissa never appeared or existed on Dallas. In the Dallas timeline, Harry didn't even have a brother.
